You can now access a variety of services online without having to phone or visit the surgery.
Online services offered
- Booking and cancelling appointments
- Ordering repeat prescription
It is easier and quicker to book appointments and request repeat prescriptions via our online service. Simply log in and select an option.
Our online services are quick, easy and convenient to use from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
They will save you time and help you take more control of your health, particularly if you have any long-term medical conditions which require regular monitoring and prescriptions.
How to register
To access these services you will need to register for them to obtain a username and password. Please visit the Practice with one form of photographic identification. The receptionist will give you a PIN number, which must be used within 14 days or it expires.
Our reception team will scan and return your documents then give you your personal login details and password. You will then be able to log in and access online services straight away.
- Please note we look closely at all applications for access to make sure they are genuine
- Access can also be withdrawn at any time if there are concerns about patient confidentiality
If ordering your repeat medication
You can view and request repeat prescriptions online. Medication which is not on your repeat slip will be subject to review by either the Pharmacist or GP. These items will take at least 48 hour to process. Please order your medication in plenty of time.
How to book an appointment
When you have completed the registration, follow the on screen instructions. You will have access to a limited number of doctor’s appointments which can be pre-booked. The system will also allow you to cancel an internet appointment you have made should it no longer be necessary.
What to do if you need to change your access/pin number
If you forget your access or pin number or you think that someone else knows this number, you will need to come to the surgery in person with photographic proof of your identity which shows the address that we have you registered at. We will then cancel your existing registration and re-issue you with a new document. You will then have to re-register your details again on the website.
Abuse of the Online System
Abuse of the system includes, but is not exclusive to the following:
- Sending needless or abusive messages to the Practice
- Repeatedly booking and cancelling appointments
- Repeatedly booking appointments over a short period of time
- Booking appointments and not attending them
- Any offensive or abusive messages through the service
- Requesting prescriptions that you do not need.
Proxy access
If you are the parent of any children under the age of 12 you will need to fill in a ‘proxy’ access form to view their details. You can also grant access to a carer if you wish.
Security
We take the security of your information very seriously. Our clinical systems provider ensures that the information you provide when using the online services portal is protected. All communications with the web site are encrypted, using the same high security that major banks use for their internet transactions (128 bit SSL). Only you can see the personal information you enter.
Using the most up-to-date version of your web browser also improves security of information. Remember to close the browser after use, especially if someone else could access your computer.
Other information
The system is hosted and managed by Egton Medical Information Systems based in Leeds. The practice cannot be held responsible if you are unable to logon to the system because of a problem with the internet or the host server. Both Egton Medical Information Systems and the practice reserve the right to withdraw access to any patient without warning if they feel they are abusing the system.
The surgery is a very busy between 8:00am and 10:00am every day. We would appreciate it if you could avoid this time to register for this service and obtain your Personal Identification Number.
