District Nurses

The District Nurse role is to provide nursing care to housebound patients and care of patients with chronic disease in the community. They also play a very important role in palliative care for patients with terminal illness. The practice participates in the Gold Standard Palliative Care Framework to provide the highest quality care for these patients.

Other services include:

  • Dressings/Removal of Sutures
  • Care of chronically ill patients
  • Advice on incontinence
  • Male/Female Catheterisation
  • Injections
  • Flu Vaccine
  • Ear Syringing
  • Blood Samples
  • Monitoring Blood Pressure

The nurses provide care to patients in their own homes through a 24 hour nursing service and can be contacted at the undernoted times by telephone:

A Health Visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Our health visitors can be contacted during the hours of 08:30 – 17:00 by telephoning the above numbers. If required, you can leave a message on the answering machine and they will call you back.
